Hot & Cold Shop was established 30 years ago in Goulburn Valley, Victoria, servicing the region with all of their heating, cooling, solar, and lifestyle needs for both domestic and commercial properties. In 2013 Phill Lahm, along with two business partners Adrian Hamer and Paul Marshall, purchased the company.
Much of the work within the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning industry is project based as many people rely on specialists to keep their climates at a comfortable level all year round. In order to manage multiple client requests, the Hot & Cold Shop team must have good time management, accuracy, and excellent customer service. “We were definitely taking a more traditional approach to job management using paper job cards, manual data entry,” said Phill.
When Phill and his business partners eventually grew tired of their old systems and having to keep track of a paper trail, a moment of synchronicity occurred.
“Paul happened to be online one day and a Verizon Connect advert popped up. He clicked on the link, completed the required information and within 24 hours we were contacted by one of the sales team. It was all really good timing,” Phill added.
The team needed something that was going to be easy to understand, operate, and fit well with their business needs. With the integration of Verizon Connect, Phill saw it was going to work well for his business. The Hot & Cold Shop would be able to take advantage of the mobile-based platform that would give them real time visibility into their business and help simplify their day-to-day by knowing what their field team is doing.
