What is a Vehicle Data Device (VDD)?
The VDD is a vehicle tracking unit that provides precise engine data and frequent plotting, helping you make better business decisions. It’s convenient to self-install, connecting to the vehicle’s OBD-II port, reducing vehicle downtime and operational friction. The port is usually located under the dashboard or beneath the steering wheel column.
There are different options to install the Vehicle Data Device:
- Plugging it directly into the port.
- Using a Y-cable to keep the port open for diagnostic tool scanning and to conceal the VDD
Once the Vehicle Data Device (VDD) is already installed you can track your vehicles and receive near-real time updates on your fleet management platform and mobile fleet app.
