Services industry insights: How fleet technology can help transform the sector

Services are crucial to the EU economy and according to a recent study, “they account for around 70% of the EU’s GDP and an equal share of its employment." 

It’s also one of the top 5 sectors that uses GPS fleet tracking in their daily business with 69% of European companies we surveyed utilising this technology in 2021. 

Further to this, in the "Fleet Trends Report Europe: Services Industry Insights conducted for Verizon Connect by ABI Research, we highlight how fleet management is key to helping deliver results and building resilience for all the key industries.

Here are some of the main findings relating to the services industry:

• 53% of survey respondents reported improved customer service since they implemented a fleet tracking solution. 
• 31% improved productivity. 
• 54% lowered their fuel consumption. 
• 41% reduced accidents and 38% have lowered labour costs. 
• For smart technologies, like in-cab video, the benefits go far beyond expectations. 56% of video solution adopters have reduced accident costs and 50% have lowered insurance costs.
